Making way for two White House dramas
September 27, 2005LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A new TV show starring Oscar-winner Geena Davis as America’s first female president, juggling career and family while holding Republican enemies at bay, is drawing Internet fire from conservatives and feminists alike.
But the big question among network executives is whether there is room enough in prime time for two White House dramas. “Commander In Chief” premieres on Tuesday on ABC following the return on Sunday of NBC’s Emmy-winning White House drama “The West Wing.”
I don’t find West Wing interesting and I doubt I’ll enjoy the new series. Sometimes I wonder on what basis do our channels choose their programs, West Wing is aired on One TV, a Dubai based channel in case you don’t know.

The West Wing is probably the greatest drama series ever created and I’m confident that Commander in Chief will not make it to November sweeps before ABC pulls it.

Maybe if you’re interested in the US politics and the white house.

If you’re interested in politics in general its a good show. Like it or not, American politics is comparitvly something to be admired.
Plus you learn something new

I used to watch everything before I get this job, for learning and non-learning purposes lol but I don’t see how the West Wing could be the greatest drama thats all. I can say the series is OK, but your right its good for learning political concepts in general and what-sort-of happens. I’ll watch the re-runs after midnight then.

You are right nasnas, I personally consider the US politics and the US economy as the eighth and the nineth wonders of the world.

I’m with Nas on this one, West Wing is one of the best dramas ever because it is so well written and researched to give a real-world feel and content. I can’t stand the usual cookie-cutter, dumb-down, air-head, intellect-insulting dramas that are all over TV. West Wing provides some MUCH needed “entertain your brain” drama.
