These are the results of the last two days only, Al Baz has been receiving too many hits daily since the day I posted about her. Reputation of Saudi women in particular and Muslim and Arab women in general has suffered because of this woman and her host Oprah, who had intentionally interviewed Al-Baz and showed horrifying pictures of her injuries in an episode where proud happy women came from around the world to represent their nations. Stop Oprah!! from manipulating the image of women status in Islam

  1. if we haven’t talked about the suffering of our women ourselves, others would do it, that’s very expected.

  2. hareega..how could you utter such a faux-pas..Arab Women Suffering?? There is no such thing…Saudi Women have sent a clear message to Karen Hughes, they are very happy, they are not suffering..they love the fact that they cant drive and they dont have a problem with getting beaten up by their husbands…They are perfectly happy women!!!!! 2al suffering 2al???

  3. To think that an American TV presenter who prepares an episode about women from different countries in the world who came to show the best of their cultures is actually doing anyone but herself and her twisted beliefs good is ridiculous. I can’t personally think of an excuse to what Al-Baz did. She used her suffering and other women’s suffering to serve personal interests and goals.

  4. I don’t believe that it is ever right for a man to hit a woman. I respect Rania for what she is doing for her fellow women. She is brave to stand up when no one else will.

There is no way anyone can ever convince me that a battered woman is a happy woman. I am sure there are many Arab women that have wonderful husbands and lead extremely happy lives. But you have to keep in mind that there also women who experience domestic violence everyday that are afraid to seek help. This is not just a problem in Arab countries, although I believe it is less talked about there, but it is a problem all over the world. I believe that Rania is speaking out for women who are unable or afraid to speak out for themselves. That is something to be admired. If anything she causes me to have greater respect for Arab women, NOT less.
