flickr is blocked in the UAE: My Complaint
November 23, 2005I’ve just sent them a compaint:
Sir,
I appreciate your continuous efforts to protect the Internet audience from any abusive actions.
flickr.com is one of the most useful photo tools in the World Wide, in fact it might be the best. I’m one of many users who benefits from it, and who want it to be back as soon as possible as the bad behavior of some should not trigger what i see as a collective punishment.
And what a concidence! from 22nd of Nov to the 23rd the Online Journalism Conference is being held at the Sharjah University.
Blocking flickr and similar sites is defintely a step backward in a country that supports technology and Internet, and a sad thing to your loyal customers.
We’ll see if they care.

i hope they do, Flickr should be the last of anyones concern..

This sucks. Tell me something, why are the UAE blogs so silent on this issue? Have they been cut off too?

I don’t know about other bloggers but I’m not silent, I also complained to Etisalat (UAE telecom) but no response.
