  1. UAE has bars and nightclubs. What moral values?

  3. Hi Shaden: Once you concede that censoring is acceptable, then you give up the right to complain when it happens. So, when you say that censoring of something that contradicts your “religion and culture” is OK, you are tacitly approving the practice. Only those with weak arguments feel the need to silence the opposition.

  4. Khalaf, welcome first! I was being sarcastic, what I was trying to say is that Google reader is not even against my religion, culture and morals to begin with. I’m not with censoring, however, I’m with blocking 100% pornography Websites. they aren’t healthy, to say the least.

  5. SC: Pornography is not speech, in my opinion. However, a lot of discussion has gone in distinguishing between art and pornography, and the lines can become blurred. A famous quote in this regard is from an American judge, who said “I know pornography when I see it”. Of course, this is funny because distinguishing the difference becomes a value judgment.

The internet is a threat because it allows free transfer of ideas. The old method silencing opposing views will soon become an archaic concept. I am enjoying watching this happen.

  7. Way to go, they’re blocking everything that could be used in any possible way the way I see it, so why not just block the whole internet?!
